Brazilian legend could be coming to FIFA 18, guess who?

With the football season almost over and transfer season about to kick into gear, plenty of gamers will also be looking ahead to the new FIFA 18 game due in late September. FIFA 18 could see one of the greatest footballers ever to play the game return to the series. Leaked footage has emerged that allegedly shows two Russian commentators recording dialogue for the new game – in which they say ‘Ronaldo’. Fans go mental after leaked footage suggests this Brazilian legend could be coming to FIFA 18.

Clever fans on Reddit spotted the pair mention Ronaldo’s spell at Barcelona – which would rule out Cristiano Ronaldo, who played for Sporting CP, Manchester United and Real Madrid. The commentators allegedly say: “After transfer to Barca, Ronaldo become the best striker by scoring 34 goals in 37 games, he achieved the best player award in 96,97 and Golden Ball in 97, only in one season he became one of the best snipers in La Liga, unique accomplishment.” Unsurprisingly, gamers are getting very excited. One wrote: “I pray they bring Legends onto PS4 one day. Ronaldo is the goat for me. Would be a dream to play with him.” Ronaldo moved to Barcelona from PSV, and netted 34 goals in 37 appearances for the club.

While details of FIFA 18 remain relatively scarce, a video posted on Instagram recently - which has now been deleted - showed two well-known Russian commentators doing some voice-overs for the game. Nothing out of the ordinary there right? Well, apart from the fact you can very clearly hear one of the commentators say "Ronaldo" at one point.

Fans will be able to play FIFA 18 at the EA Play event at the E3 gaming expo.“From June 10 – 12, players joining us in Hollywood will get hands on with the next Star Wars Battlefront and Need for Speed experiences.” reads an EA statement. “You’ll also get your first chance to play many of our upcoming EA SPORTS titles: Madden NFL 18, FIFA 18 and NBA LIVE 18. This isn’t all. By the way…and we’ll have more to share in the coming months.” Although no release date is confirmed for FIFA 18, pre-orders will start around the same time as the game gears up its September release.
