The Zookeeper – by Voxicity

A master of beasts and tamer of all the creatures of Tamriel. The Zookeeper commands an army of loyal minions to fight for them, dealing devastating burst damage to enemy players and monsters. This build is aimed at those who fight in the Alliance War; however, it performs great for overland content too.

Armor and Weapons

  • Hat and Shoulder - Tremorscale/Maw of the Infernal/Selene

These Undaunted sets that can be found in their respective dungeons (Veteran Volenfell for Tremorscale, Veteran Banished Cells II for Maw of the Infernal, and Veteran Selene's Web for Selene) and in Undaunted chests by using Pledge Keys.

Traits and enchantments: All items should have Impenetrable traits with Health enchantment on the hat and Stamina on the shoulder.

  • Arms, Legs, Boots, Waist, and Chest - Bone Pirate's Tatters Set

This set combined with the Dubious Cameron Throne drink gives the build great Stamina Recovery while also retaining high Maximum Stamina. This set can be found in the normal Blackheart Haven dungeon.

Traits and enchantments: Impenetrable traits with Health enchantment on the legs and chest and Stamina on arms, boots, and waist.

  • Primary Weapon, Shield, and Jewelry - Viper's Sting Set

Channel the strength of your inner serpent to deal instant damage to your enemy when hitting them with melee attacks! This set can be found in the normal Fungal Grotto and Fungal Grotto II dungeons.

Traits and enchantments: For the weapon, use the Sharpened trait to improve penetration. For the shield, impenetrable is best; however, most other traits work fine, too. Enchant the weapon with Weapon Damage to increase damage even further.

  • Secondary weapon – Viper's Sting Set / Maelstrom

For the secondary weapon, try to find a Maelstrom two-hander with the Defending trait, a Defending Viper's Sting two-hander, or any random Defending two-hander. To find a Maelstrom weapon, you need to complete veteran Maelstrom Arena (no small task).

Traits and enchantments: This will mostly just be your buff bar, so the Defending trait as mentioned above works great. Enchant with Poison or Disease if using a Viper's Sting weapon, or use a poison potion if you have a Maelstrom weapon.

Attribute Points and Mundus Stones

Put all Attribute Points into Stamina, but add points into Health if you struggle to survive. PvP can be pretty brutal!

Use The Lord or The Tower Mundus Stones to also help boost Health or Stamina.

Champion Points

Put your Champion Points into the following:

  • The Tower - 4 Siphoner, 11 Warlord, 16 Sprinter, 6 Bashing Focus

  • The Lover- 75 Mooncalf, 64 Tenacity, 4 Healthy

  • The Shadow - 11 Tumbling, 8 Shade, 11 Shadow Ward

  • The Apprentice - 27 Blessed

  • The Atronach - 19 Physical Weapon Expert, 5 Shattering Blows, 37 Master at Arms

  • The Ritual - 28 Precise Strikes, 51 Piercing, 43 Mighty

  • The Steed - 10 Medium Armor Focus, 13 Ironclad, 10 Spell Shield, 46 Resistant

  • The Lady - 9 Thick Skinned, 49 Hardy, 49 Elemental Defender

  • The Lord - 9 Expert Defender, 15 Quick Recovery

Primary Bar Abilities

You should slot the following abilities:

  • Invasion - Your primary source of controlling your enemy. This ability closes the gap between you and your foe and stuns them upon impact, increasing the duration of the stun the further you are away.

  • Subterranean Assault - Has a charge time of three seconds before dealing extremely high poison damage to all enemies in front of the caster. This skill is used as part of the main burst combo in the build.

  • Cutting Dive - A ranged, spammable Stamina ability that can't be dodged. Cutting Dive can be used to deal with dodge rolling targets and to strike your enemy from the safety of your keep wall. This skill will be used as part of the burst damage combo.

  • Ransack - Taunts the enemy and will also set off one of the monster sets for extremely high burst damage.

  • Vigor - A very reliable heal over time. This ability is slotted on the front bar to make it easier to achieve a high up time. You will need it in PvP.

  • Wild Guardian (Ultimate) - A loyal beast to fight by your side. This companion excels in 1-v-1 situations.

Passive Skills

Make sure you have all the passives from the Animal Companions skill line to increase your damage and recovery.

In the Winter's Embrace skill line, the Ice Aura passive is also important to help reduce snares in PvP.

Combat Strategy and Rotation

Your main source of damage in this build consists of a burst combo.

When approaching a fight, you will want to cast your abilities in a specific order. First, cast all of your buffs, then Subterranean Assault, Cutting Dive, Invasion, Light attack, Ransack, and finally Light Attack.

This combination of skills alone will deal an extremely high amount of damage to your enemy, and your armor sets will also come into play for even more damage.

When using Ransack, your Tremorscale set will cause a Duneracer to shoot out of the ground and deal damage to your opponent as well as reducing their movement speed. Your Viper's Sting set will also hit at the same time, increasing the damage even further. (Editor's Note: Don't forget that Ransack is a taunt, so if you're doing PvE content and are NOT the tank in your group, you'll be pulling aggro!)

In the middle of a fight, you should repeat the same combo while making sure to keep your buffs up at all times (particularly Bull Netch for that 20% increase to your damage).
