The Elder Scrolls Online expands the Witches Festival

Tamriel is certainly no stranger to ghosts, demons, and extradimensional forces dropping anchors on the realm to try to drag it into their world of horror. So why not take a moment to laugh at it all? That's the rationale behind ESO's Witches Festival, the MMO's upcoming Halloween event.

Everyone in Tamriel will be rewarded for simply doing whatever with a free XP buff. Players must pick up the free-of-charge “Crow Caller” item from the Crown Store, complete the “Witchmother’s Bargain” quest line, and use the received Witchmother's Whistle item to get a 100% XP buff for you and your party for the next two hours. The Whistle also summons a Witchmother's Cauldron that lets players temporarily polymorph into an undead creature.

On top of the extra XP, players can earn goodies from Plunder Skulls that drop from boss monsters found in World Events, Delves, Dungeons, Trials, and Dark Anchors. These items offer an opportunity to get unique in-game items such as themed masks, recipes, furniture, and Hollowjack Motif Pages or Motif Books.

The Witches Festival begins on Friday, October 20th and lasts until Wednesday, November 1st. More information can be found on ESO's website and virsale is also providing eso gold for sale.

It's hard to refuse extra XP earnings, and while we're not a fan of loot boxes, getting them for free without requiring some additional purchase is acceptable enough. Here's hoping everyone in The Elder Scrolls Online has a good time during the event.
